Did you know that both janitorial and residential cleaning is considered an essential business during the safer at home order? You may have been cleaning on your own and are now ready for a deep clean. Here are some guidelines to make sure you and your cleaning service are ready to work together:
If possible, try to be out of your loft while your cleaning service is in progress. See if you front desk can arrange access to your loft. It might be a good time to run some errands, go for a walk, or talk a long drive. If you must be home, maintain your social distance as well. If you can’t be out for too long, ask your service provider for their minimum service and provide them with a list of your top priorities.
Service providers should offer contactless payment methods for the safety of their team members.
Ask your service provider about their safety protocols. Keep in mind referral services and independent contractors are not required to provide guidelines or equipment for proper PPE or training on proper disinfection methods. At a minimum, facemasks, gloves, shoe covers and safety glasses should be used.
Find out if your service provider includes disinfection. Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection require different supplies and methodologies.
Finally, let your service provider know if anyone in your office or loft has been infected with COVID-19 so they can take the appropriate safety precautions.
